Anyone used "Paris Apartment Services"

Hi,

I am trying to get an apartment and got in touch with this company http://www.paris-apts.com/. I picked up this company from Rick Steve's book. Has anyone used them before? The reason I ask is they won't tell me the location of the apartment till one week before arrival (like Hotwire). They promise it will be central and in districts 1-4. I am wondering if someone was offered a deal like this before and what the apartment turned out to be.

STUDIO of 25-30 square meters with 1 double bed + an equipped kitchenette and a separate bathroom => 137 euros per night + City tax (1 euro per night and per person), outgoing phone calls and electricity used.

Forgot to mention this is in mid-June renting for a week. I just don't want to be shocked a week before my arrival with a dismal apartment and no way to back out!

This is your vacation. I wouldn't rely on something like this. I would never pay for an apartment unless I knew exactly where it was. Especially with a 4 district quote. Try "vacationinparis.com"

I've never used anything like this but rely on Lodgis which has thorough descriptions and photos of everything. We are in Paris one week every year and have used them for the past six years. You might want to compare prices and descriptions. Districts 1-4 are indeed central, but does it tell you what floor the apartment is on, is there an elevator if it's on a higher floor, does the bedroom face the street or the courtyard, is there an internet line so you can make phone calls and get info? These are things I look for.

Personally I would never do this. Price is not that great for a very small apt. Check out vrbo.com, lots of choices and you can see what you are getting up front with photos and reviews.

I second the vrbo.com recommendation. See the apartment that you are renting. I found a great one at a good rate.

Slowtrav.com is another good resource for finding an apartment. Readers list reviews and photo of apts from many agencies.

I agree with others, I wouldn't do this, and the price is not very good for what it sounds like you're getting.
