We will be in Provence this July with a car and would love to visit some wineries. Does anyone have a favorite they can recommend? What is special about your favorite? thanks!

We have stayed several times in Sablet--a great location for wine exploration. Here is my list:
1. Chatenuef de Pape. Check Rick's Provence book for the cave he recommends. It is a fantastic place to go. Also, beaucastel--don't miss this one!
2. Gigondas--never went to a bad winery there.
3. Vacqueryas.
4. Rasteau
5. Follow Rick's wine trip through Suzette--it takes you to many great places.

Sue, Where is Beaucastel? I can't find it in Rick's Provence book.
