I am spending 6 weeks in the Isere region of France(L'Isle D'Abeau) with a family. Any suggestions for sights to see, foods to try?!

Since no one has replied, I just googled "isere france tourism" and there's lots of good info out there.

I spent a month in Lyon. It's very worthwhile, so is St. Etienne, Le Puy, Chamonix, Geneva, Grenoble and pretty much every village and town in the Alps. You can even day-trip to Avignon, Pont du Gard, Montelimar, the Ardeche gorge etc.
