Anybody been to Restaurant Chartier in Paris (9th Ad.)

I've read a bit on line about Restaurant Chartier, sounds like an inexpensive classic. I'd like comments from the regulars here. Worth going, or has it become one of those Yogi Berra places ("nobody goes there anymore, its too busy").

It looks like the inside of a train station.

It's been several years ago.. and I have no real desire to go back. It's fairly loud, food was so so and the "communal" aspect had me at a table with a man who wasn't happy about having to share his table :)

I echo Carol's response. It's an old workers' restaurant from wayy back. Food is blah. It's an institution I suppose.

Chartier gets lots of discussion on the Paris board at TripAdvisor.

Thanks, Peter, for the TripAdvisor tip, and to the others for adding in. I had forgotten to check TripAdvisor. The reviews (there are many) are polarized. People seem to either love or hate Restaurant Chartier. Maybe we'll find another brassierre, maybe we'll go there.
