Any tips for Strike Season (Paris)?

I've learned that a general strike is forecast for Thursday, January 29, in France. SNCF, RATF, etc., maybe Air France, maybe (gulp) the air traffic controllers.

We plan to arrive - you guessed it - January 29.

Do taxis operate when this occurs? I assume that the gnarly traffic on a weekday morning will be all the more gnarly.

Any advice welcome.

I have been reading travelers comments on rail strikes in France for 10 years with never a mention of air controllers or taxis. And sometimes the announced strikes are canceled.

Hang loose and roll with the tide. Paris traffic is impossible in normal times.
