Hi Everyone!
I keep finding outrageous prices for one way air fare from Spain (departure city is flexible) to Toronto, Canada. Does anyone have any website or airline suggestions?
Thank you in advance! :)

Thanks, Steve. I'll definitely check those sites out. :)
One way tickets are always expensive. You may actually get a better deal getting a round trip ticket and not using half of the leg. We did this when having to plan a last minute direct flight from Vienna to Toronto to avoid airport troubles at Heathrow caused by terrorists. The one way tickets are killer prices.
Jessica,
You might have a look at Air Transat as they have weekly flights from Barcelona. I tend to find that Air Canada has the best availability of flights and timing that fits my schedule. AC also has the benefit of their Star Alliance partners, which helps.
Cheers!
Jessica,, as noted one ways can be riduculus,, do you really need one way or are you thinking of an open jaw flight?
Thanks again for all of those who have responded.
As far as the open jaw suggestion- yes, that would have been ideal, however I am going to Italy on a pass and the person who's taking me on their pass is leaving two weeks before I am. Which means I am finding my own arrangement back.
I heard that you could get "punished" for buying a round trip and not using one leg of it. How would they do this and does it normally happen? Are you really taking a risk?
Jessica, buy the round trip ticket if it's cheaper. Then, after you arrive home, call the airline and cancel the return leg. That way, the airline can resell the seat. You won't be "punished." People do this all the time.
I'm not too sure if I understand what you mean. I'm going to Italy on a one way ticket (through a buddy pass) and would only require a flight back home. So therefore, I wouldn't be using the first flight that would get me from Canada to Europe, but would be using the second from Europe back to Canada. Or do you mean get a round trip as in to Europe-Canada/Canada to Europe? (thinking it over I guess that makes the most sense! For some reason I was only thinking of my starting point as Canada, therefore wasting the first leg of the trip!)
"Or do you mean get a round trip as in to Europe-Canada/Canada to Europe?"
Yes. (As opposed to a one-way Spain > Toronto ticket as mentioned in your original post.)
Hmm.. for some reason that option never crossed my mind. You're a smart one, Tom! Thanks! :0)
