Any recommended Barcelona hotels

Steve, I just saw this post. If you haven't already gone on your trip, I would recommend a place called Aparthotel Acacia, located in the eixemple area. We have stayed there twice and are going back again in September. Very close to the metro, great restaurants, cafes, etc. I believe they do have larger suites. We have stayed in one that had two adjoining rooms, the smaller room with a sofa bed, but you could inquire about larger ones. There is also a small kitchenette in each unit. Their is someone at the front desk 24/7 for any questions you might have or problems that arise. The glass entry way is always secured and monitored by the front desk.
