I will be in Frankfurt for three days at the end of the year. I noticed that most (all?) museums and attractions are closed on New Year's Eve. Are there exceptions? Any ideas of what else we should do? Is spending a day in the Middle Rhine an option? Thanks!
The Palmengarten and the Zoo are open 365 days a year. Haven't checked the other websites, but usually, the museums will take turns being closed on New Years Eve and New Years day. The biggest problem is that the 31st is a Monday, when museums are usually closed anyway. There are also usually concerts, or special church services if you like hearing magnificent organs. Stores shut down about 1400.
