My wife and I are going to spend 10 days on the French Riviera with Antibes as our home base. We are thinking about a day trip to St Tropez. What is the best way to get from Antibes/Nice to St Tropez?
Jim, I've never travelled that route, but I believe your best option is train from Antibes to St. Raphael Valescure (~34 minutes) and then either Bus or Boat to St. Tropez. Happy travels!
I also haven't travelled to St. Tropez, but when I was in the Rivieria last summer, I saw ads for ferries that would take you there from Cannes. I didn't check in to it, so I don't have any details.
We took a day cruise from Nice to St. Tropez in early June last year (I think it is mentioned in Rick's book.) It stopped in Cannes to pick up more passengers. I think the bus (line 100, 200 ?) arrives in Cannes fairly close to the dock the cruise uses.
You can walk around St Tropez easily, but a cab or van will be needed to get to the beaches and they were apparently in short supply when the boat arrived.
Thanks for the responses. Will give it a try as one of our day trips.
