another request for logding in Paris - B&B anyone?

My husband and I are going to be in Paris for five days starting August 1st. I have seen all of the resent postings on this site, but no one has mentioned B&B's. Do they have them? If not, I am interested in the Rue Cler area only because a friend said I should stay there. Should I be looking in other areas too?

Certainly do not limit your search for a hotel to the rue Cler area. The whole of Paris awaits you. If you go to www.en.parisinfo.com you can search all areas for a hotel. There are hundreds of 2 star hotels in Paris. Sorry, I know nothing of B&Bs in Paris.

Google; Hotel Ideal on rue Emile Zola. Hotel Campanile Nation near Place de la Nation, or any Ibis Hotel in Paris.

Betsy, You will find many people on this board who only stay in the Rue Cler area because Rick Steves recommends it. I also stayed there for that very reason. Although it is very nice, to me it is too quiet and not walkable to anything but the Eiffel Tower. Yes, there is one metro station there, but I don't feel it is as central as other areas. We rented an apartment in the Latin Quarter (5th) and it was an easy walk to a lot of things, plus multiple metro stations are in the area. It is livelier too. With five days, you might want to consider an apartment. It can be less expensive and you will have more room. Parisian apartments a notoriously small. Have a great trip!

Most hotels in Paris charge extra for breakfast, so you can't really call them "B&Bs." In the central areas of Paris there are many bars and restaurants serving breakfast, usually at a reasonable price.
