I didn't use them but busses are plentiful and I did notice bus stations with tourist information signs. From what I could translate, it seemed the tourist information was related directly to short sightseeing bus tours offered in the station. Unlike the states, bus stations have multiple companies offering various options. They also have information booths (but speak little English). Also unlike the states, travel agents are happy to book bus tickets and day tours for you. Your best bet may be to drop into a travel agent (look for "viajes") and see what is available - or call from home and talk to someone there.
