Just wanted others to add to their itereraries the NEMO science museum. It is by far the best we have experpienced and he spent over 3 hours on the projects and events. It is really great, and the Amsterdam card gives you free admission as adults, however, for NEMO, children are 12.5 Euro and well worth it.Everything is in Dutch and English. Level 3 will be extremely interesting to teens on how their bodies and emotions are developing, and is not for a parent who has avoided the subject.
Finally, we stayed in a huge room for the 3 of us at the hotel Bema in the museum district for 105 a night with free internet and breakfast in the room, however, as Jake noted, it was 59 narrow stairs to the reception desk. We will stay there again. The staff was wonderful.
No love for the 17th century warship docked outside of the museum:) I'm sure your grandson loved it! The brand new city library next to Nemo is very kid-friendly as well.
