I'm considering a 7 to 10 day trip to A'dam in February or March. I'm interested in seeing a bit of Europe during the so-called "off season" in winter. Will A'dam still be snowy then, or just cold and rainy? And will the hotels be cheaper? Thanks in advance for any info :-)
Amsterdam usually doesn't get snow; sometimes they will get a dusting. It will of course get cold :) In terms of pricing, Amsterdam doesn't have an off-season anymore, hotels rates are sky high all year. The combination of conventions and low budget airlines keep the hotels full. BUT, airfares from the US to Amsterdam will be significantly cheaper; so thats something. You will find cheaper hotel rates at other big cities like Paris/Berlin/London/Brussels/Brugge if you want visit another city in addition to Amsterdam.
