Im looking for a amsterdam hotel for 2 noghts, maybe on the canal ring or any suugestion in which area we should stay. Thanks

Rick's book has good suggestions as does TripAdvisor. I stayed at Hotel Brouwer on the canal, only ten minute walk from Centraal Station and was very satisfied. It has a tiny elevator, a computer for guests, simple breakfast and clean rooms. It is a two star I think, so not fancy, but I liked it very much.

We just stayed at the Rho Hotel, one minute walk from Dam Square and both E-W and N-S Trams. Location perfect, reception staff helpful & professional, plentiful hot & cold breakfast. Our room was large, dark and quiet... could use a bit of new decor but was terrific for us. We paid 120 Euro per night all inclusive...Many good restaurants in easy walking distance...

We like the Wiechmann and the Hotel Fita. The Wiechmann has a wonderful location right on the Prinsengracht, but has a lot of stairs..no elevator.The Hotel Fita is wonderful but in a different area over by the museum area. This is a wonderful hotel with elevator and a great breakfast.
