I'll be in Amsterdam on a Thursday & Friday night. The problem is a lot of hostels seem to require 2-3 night stays over weekends (well according to the sites I've been looking at). Do they really stick to that? I think I've found a good one for Thursday night, but I'm completely lost at what I should do on Friday night. I'd rather not just hang out and walk around all night...

Yes yes that is one of the sites I've been searching on. Most require a 2 night stay on weekends it seems (Friday-Saturday), or 4 night stays...
I've also been looking on hostelworld.com, but then going directly to a hostel's website (if they have one) and I notice some differences in prices & room availability. Why is this? I know hostelworld.com charges a deposit...
