As if the free ones don't have experts? The TI across from the train station will offer a wide range of tours.

point taken. but my hope is to find something similar to what context travel provides in many european cities, but not in amsterdam.

I have never used this company but have it bookmarked for my next stay in Amsterdam due to the positive reviews I have read about it. Might be worth a look at. http://www.historywalks.eu/main.php
