I am going to Amsterdam on Sunday and would like recommendations on day trips out of Amsterdam. I really want to go to Bruges and wanted info on a one day tour out of Amsterdam. Any info on what and where to go, would be appreciated. Thank you, Bonnie

Rick's Amsterdam guidebook has a whole chapter on day trips. Bruges is a bit too far, it's better as an overnight. My favorite is the Delft/Hague preferably on a Saturday. Haarlem, Edam, and Arnhem are also good choices.

Rotterdam too. You can see pretty much all of Holland with day trips from Amsterdam.

Rotterdam is great. I'd also heartily recommend Haarlem and Delft. Great breaks from fast paced Amsterdam, and lots of nice things to see!

You're there during tulip season. Have you considered Keukenhof? This is a very easy day trip from Amsterdam.
I also really enjoyed Delft. Think a smaller version of Amsterdam without the huge crowds (not that crowds are a big problem this year...).

I'll second the recommendation to Keukenhof Gardens.
I don't think Bruges will really work as a day trip. It is about 4 hours by train one-way. You will spend most of the day travelling.
