I will be in Amsterdam for a week and would like to ask for anyone's experience with the discount cards that are available. Do I get the I amsterdam card, the museum card or the year long pass.
Thanks for your help.
It all depends on your plans and the places you want to visit. The I Amsterdam Card includes public transportation, the other two don't.
You'll have to crunch the numbers, but in general the Iamsterdam card is economical if you visit three covered sites a day and take at least four tram rides a day. It covers most everything in the city except the Anne Frank House and the Rijks Museum. It does cover the wonderful city zoo which is the most expensive attraction in the city.
hi, you may want to compare the attractions list on each to what you plan or want to do. when i was there, i got the musuem card (museumkaart) and i was lucky that i did, since i was burned out on my last week of my month long trip so i skipped some things and played lazy american on my last 2 days there. I did come back several months later and was able to use my card and see what i missed. i belive the musuem card doesnt cover transportation, but that was okay with me since i just bought 2 or 3 day passes. just a comment. The only lines for anything was to the Anne Frank House, which i still havent seen, yet. Everything else didnt have any line, at least when i was there in March and late Oct of last year. happy trails.
