Quick Question - I'll be spending a few days in Amsterdam and Brussels.
Would a bunch of young guys (23-25) enjoy a night in Bruge, or would we be better to do it as a day trip from Brussels and spend the night there?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
A bunch of young guys might like a night in Ghent or Leuven better. Ghent also has a very attractive historic core, but the crucial difference is that Ghent hosts a large university and is less touristy (although not completely devoid of tourists either). Leuven has an even larger student population. It's not quite as pretty as Brugge or Ghent, but provided it's not too cold or raining, the Oude Markt (one block away from the cathedral and town hall) has the best locals-only night time cafe scene in Europe.
