Amsterdam and Paris - 1 week

Hi, I am planning a trip to Amsterdam and possibly Paris in April. Here is my rough plan:

Arrive Amsterdam 4/20 @ 1300
19:15 Thalys train to Paris
Sleep in Paris

Wed 4/21
Paris - Eiffel Tower, Arc
Sleep in Monmarte

Thur 4/21
Paris - Notre Dame in AM
afternoon train to Amsterdam (1415)
sleep in Amsterdam

Fri 2/22
Amsterdam - Anne Frank and Vangogh

Sat 2/23
Amsterdam - day trip to Keukenhof

Sun 2/24
Amsterdam. possible day trip to Haarlem.

Mon 2/25 - early flight home (9am)

Is this doable? Or should I just stick to Amsterdam with the two day trips to Haarlem and Keukenhof? I want this to be a very relaxing vacation, but also want to experience a lot.

It would be a much more relaxing trip if you fly open jaw. Land in one city and leave from another (most online ticket brokers allow this option). Other than that, looks OK.

It would be more efficient for you to visit Keukenhof when to take the Thalys from Paris to Amsterdam. Instead of going all the way to Centraal Station, get off at the stop before: Schipohl Airport. From the airport there are direct buses to the gardens. There are lockers at Keukenhof to store your bags.

I wouldn't call it an "error in planning". It's more like "getting the cheapest flight possible" and buying a sale airfare. It was much more economical to buy the airfare on sale at $214 each way, then buy a 35 euro train ride than to buy an open jaw flight that would cost almost triple the price for the dates I need to travel. Most airlines don't let you adjust flights you bought on sale. but thanks anyway
