I will be in Amsterdam mid-August with my family. Two adults, one teenager. We have a room held at Zandeberg near Vondelpark and also a suite at teh Filosoof. Has anyone stayed at the suites at the Filosoof? I cannot tell if they are more modern than the rooms but they look like they are. I have also looked at apartments but most appear either quite expensive or pretty far out or a bit too funky for our taste. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good flat or if you have stayed at the other places mentioned above?

Someone suggested Prinx apartments but they are full. I know we are late but there are still places available. Am open to other ideas. One bdr apt at reasonable rate near Vondelpark or in Jordaan or other recommended ideas?

What's your budget in Euros per night? Try looking for apartments in the De Pijp area near the Albert Cuypmarkt. The rents there more reasonable than the Jordaan and plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes in area, plus you have the street market if you need fruit, vegetables, meat or cheese for your apartment fridge. Also it is an easy walk from De Pijp to some of the major museums (e.g., Rijksmuseum) and that area is well-connected with trams that run frequently if you need to get back towards Dam Sq or Centraal.
