American Airlines Lounge at CDG Paris

Has anyone used the showers/lounge at American Airlines at Charles De Gaulle? We are leaving Seattle at 10am and arriving at 9am the next day in Paris, but we have a NINE hour layover at CDG.

I was considering paying the $50 each to use the shower and have continental breakfast before going into Paris to sightsee all day until our evening flight.

Any ideas of should we just rough it? That is a loooong time with no shower!

On the AA website, it shows that there are no showers at their Admiral's Club lounge in CDG. The only arrivals lounge listed was at Heathrow... Is there now one at CDG?

Another option is a day rate at one of the hotels at the airport. Sometimes they can be much cheaper than an overnight rate.

The CDG Admiral's Club is a departure lounge only. Sorry.

Jenean,

Do you have a stop in between Seattle and Paris? I'm leaving Seattle at 1:00 p.m. and arrive in Amsterdam at 7:00 a.m. on my non-stop flight. I'm just curious why your flight there is taking five hours.

Also, for $50 each (don't know how many are in your group, but I am assuming at least two), you can probably rent a very basic hotel room right near the airport and use it for showers and to store your luggage while you sightsee before leaving again that evening. If you explain to the hotelier that you won't be staying the night and just using the room during the day, you might even get a price break.

We are actually leaving Seattle at 10am to Dallas then leaving Dallas at 530pm to arrive in Paris at 9am..We are flying from Paris to Milan that evening at 8pm or so (believe it or not it was cheaper this way!) The majority of our trip is in Italy with 5 days in Paris at the end.

Great idea on the hotel with day pricing! I hadnt thought of that! Thanks!!!

and thanks for the info on the lounge!

The $50-100 airport hotel for a day is probably the best idea, but maybe this would work too if you didn't want to get a hotel. Is your Paris to Milan flight out of CDG as well, or out of another Paris airport? If it is out of CDG, maybe you'd be able to check in for your flight when you arrive in Paris at 9am (I guess that depends on the airline, but if it's one of the larger airlines you should be able to do an e-check 12 hours in advance at least). So now you'd have your boarding pass for Milan by about 10am. Then go to the departures terminal, go through security, and you'd be at the American Airlines lounge where you could use their showers and probably even store carry-on luggage for a few hours. Then you could just exit out of security again and go see Paris for a few hours. When you come back in the evening, just go back through security and stop by the AA lounge again to pick up your carry-ons before boarding your flight to Milan. Have a good trip!
