That's awesome! I was reading this book called Eiffel's Tower, and a lot of the local residents were worried about it being a lightning rod. They also thought the tower might fall on their houses, or it would act as a giant magnet that would pull all of the metal out of their houses. Eiffel had to indemnify against any such damage, as the city wasn't willing to cover such risks! Highly recommend this book!
