Am I being too ambitious? Advice please...

My husband and I went to Italy in Sept. 2007 and had a fantastic time. I'm normally pretty good about organizing and planning and everything for Italy went off without a hitch. We're planning another Europe trip in October of this year. Am I being too ambitious with my itinerary? We're ok with being busy. We're young and would like to do these kinds of trips now. We're into exploring more than relaxing. We're planning a little over 2 weeks.

Day 1 - Leave at night
Day 2 - Arrive in London, England
Day 3 - London
Day 4 - London
Day 5 - Fly to Munich
Day 6 - Munich
Day 7 - Day trip to Neuschwanstein
Day 8 - Trip to Dachau
Day 9 - Day trip to Salzburg
Day 10 - Fly to Paris
Day 11 - Paris
Day 12 - Paris
Day 13 - Versailles
Day 14 - to Bayeux
Day 15 - Normandy Tour
Day 16 - Back to Paris to fly home

Does this sound do-able? Thanks for any advice.

you will be on the go but you said that is ok. realize that every time you fly you lose a day even if it is a short trip so with that thought Munich is light on sights, Dachau is depressing why not extend London and Paris stays as there is alot to do in and around those 2 cities that is 5 star. There is a holocaust monument in Paris that is incredible!!! I still feel its affects and I was there 3yrs ago.

Hi April -

I'm an American living in Europe, for 11 years now, currently reside in southern Spain. I think your agenda looks completely do-able. It is a lot to squeeze into a couple of weeks but as you stated, you're young and want to explore. You've given yourself a whole day to make your location changes so that should alleviate any stress due to the travel.

Have a great trip.

Sounds reasonable and doable, if a bit tiring. If planning a daytrip to Normandy from Paris, pick one specific destination (Mont St. Michel, Bayeux, Honfleur, D-Day beaches etc). The region is too extensive to adequately explore in one day (much less a week), so you may as well concentrate on one site that interests you.

Feasible, if busy. Still you might consider London-Paris-Normandy-ending in Munich (or even London-Normandy-Paris-etc.), flying home from Munich, as slightly more efficient logistically.

Hi Adam. That was our original plan but the flights I was seeing leaving Munich flying into Toronto (or even Detroit) were astronomical. I didn't want to have half my budget sucked into airfare. But we're open to any and all suggestions. I'm keeping my eye open.

Thanks for all the replies so far. i'm feeling a little better. We may be nixing Normandy all together since it's about an $800 option and neither of us are that sure we want to see it that badly. Lots of time to plan.....and SAVE! ;o)
