Hi Everyone! Got a quick question for the experts. I will be staying in Colmar, France for a few days on my trip next year. I would like to spend a day touring the Alsace wine road. From Colmar, would it be better to travel south, or north for the best experience?

The Alsace wine route runs pretty much north towards Strasbourg.
I'm looking for great wine, the best little hole in the wall to eat a great meal, and maybe a castle ruin or two. I really enjoy small quaint towns with little tourists.
