Anybody knows a tour company or a local guide who can DRIVE for us (4 people including 2 seniors) and SHOW us cities / places in Alsace and provence? We plan to visit there after mid September, this year. 1 senior person in our group cannot walk far but the rests can. Other suggestions are also welcomed to make this trip happen. Thank you. Thank you
Call the hotels and tourist information centers at each of your towns/locations. The tourist information centers usually have that info, and the hotels may know of someone as well.
I don't have personal experience with this particular guide, but tripadvisor.com rates it the #1 private tour service in Provence. Trip Advisor is based on users' reviews and we've found it to be at least as reliable as any other rating service. http://experienceprovence.blogvie.com/
We just returned from those areas and were delighted! I don't know about tour guides but, we stayed in two lovely chambres d'hotes. The first was in Beblenheim (Le Gambrinus), owner speaks fluent English and was quite friendly and helpful...pub/cafe in cellar loved by locals. It's a tiny village but centrally located and within 5 minutes of Riquewihr...my favorite village. In Provence, L'Eveche (owners speak English) located in upper old town. Extremely picturesque! It is in Vaison la Romaine. We planned our trip around market days and loved every one. They are such a great insight into local produce and village life. Good luck.
