Alhambra tour in the day or evening (Granada, Spain)

The entrance tickets for the Alhambra in Granada are either from 8:30-2:00pm or 2pm-8pm. Is it better to go earlier or later? And is it worth it to spend the extra 5 euros to see the garden or not? Any advice? Thanks!

I prefer to go during the morning session, since it can get pretty hot there during the afternoons (depending on what time of year you're travelling). You don't need to pay the extra...the gardens are included in your ticket price. The 5 Euro ticket is for those wishing to visit the gardens ONLY. You'll see a half-hour timeframe listed on your ticket...you must enter the Nazrid Palaces during that timeframe, or lose out, since access is strictly controlled. The Alhambra Trust has ended its partnership with the Spanish bank, BBVA, to sell advance tickets as of July 31. If you want to visit after that date, you can buy tickets at www.alhambra-tickets.es or by calling 011 34 902 888 001. The website and phone number are supposed to be in operation as of June 26. For visits up to July 31, you can still purchase tickets at www.alhambratickets.com or by calling 011 34 915 379 178...if there are any left.
