I'm looking for recommendations for a destination (and accommodations if possible) on either the Algarve or S. Spanish coast to spend one week in December with my husband and 3 year old daughter. I have read the postings for Salema and am considering that, but am also looking for other suggestions. We don't want the big resort experience - we'd prefer either a self catering apartment or local, more traditional hotel, in a location where we can hang out on the beach and also make day trips by car. Any suggestions?
