Has anyone every spent time in this town, especially during the month of January?

Peg, nobody has responded so I'll give it a try. We haven't stayed in Aix-les-bains but we did spend a few hours there on our way to Annecy and Chamonix-Mt. Blanc. We were pleasantly surprised on how nice the city looks (it's not a village or small town). The main street through the city down to the lake is loaded with very nice multi-story hotels. There is a nice public garage across from the large park as you go down this main street. We parked there and toured the shops and had lunch. We also spent time in the park and drove along the lake. All very clean and scenic. As I said above, we were surprised on how nice it looked.
