Aix-en-Provence places to stay

The France 2007 does not offer sleeping recommendations. Does anyone have recommendations regarding places to stay in Aix-en-Provence?

Thank you

Hi Michael, Rick's "Provence & the French Riviera" covers Aix. We've stayed at Hôtel des Quatre Dauphins** (tel 04.38.16.19) and our favorite Hôtel le Manoir*** (lemanoir.com, tel 04.42.26.27.20). Both have a lot of personality but Le Manoir has an outdoor area--when the temperature's comfortable--to eat or have a drink that we enjoy. I've stayed at Quatre Dauphins 3 times and this September will be the third time at Le Manoir. Some of the rooms are nicer (more convenient) than others at Le Manoir.

My family and I lived in Aix for 3 years and loved every glorious moment of it. What an incredible place. When family or friends were visiting we always suggested Le Manoir and the reviews were consistently good. The location in the heart of town is perfect and the prices cannot be beat, even with the weak dollar. Yes, the rooms are small, but you don't want to spend much time within your four walls when the winding alleys, lively marches, and inviting cafes of Aix are calling just outside your door. Le Manoir also has a beautiful outdoors seating area for breakfast and drinks, and a convenient parking lot for cars.

Another vote for Le Manoir. Had a great stay there a few years ago while visiting our daughter who was studying abroad in Aix at the time.

Thank you William for the correction! The site for Hôtel le Manoir in Aix is hotelmanoir.com. I wanted to post this correction so that anyone who might do a search at a later date has the right information.
