Airport Transportation in Spain

I'm looking for suggestions for going to the center of town from the Madrid, Barcelona and Seville airports. I'm looking for train/bus alternatives as opposed to taking a taxi.

In Barcelona I took the airport bus right from the airport to the main square near the Ramblas. It was about 5 euros. Fast and easy.

Madrid Cheapest route is on the subway system...delivers you from the airport to the city in about 30 minutes or so. A couple of changes along the way.. elevators or escellators as I recall. Chech the madrid tourist pages and you will be directed to it. Cost about 3 euros or so. There is also bus service as shown on the madrid tourist pages. Also the aerocity van service is great. About 25-30 euors but will take you where you want to go. Think there is train service in Barcelona to the airport as well...taxi or bus in Seville.

In Madrid, the Metro takes about 45 minutes, costs 2 Euro, and involves 2 transfers to get to the major downtown stops. From Barcelona's El Prat airport (BCN), there's an Aerobus express bus that'll drop you at Placa Catalunya for about 5 euro, or a slower city bus (route 46) which costs about 1.50 Euro. In Sevilla, there's a bus every half hour to/from the airport (which is just northeast of the city.) It costs about 2.50 Euro and the run will take about half an hour. It'll carry you to Avenida El Cid, between Plaza de Espana and the Cathedral, right behind the University of Sevilla's downtown building (the old cigar factory of "Carmen" fame.)

I've taken the train from the airport in Seville and found it to be pretty handy. It stops at the Sants station and from there you can catch the metro and go anywhere in the city.

Cyndi....I assume you mean you've taken the train in from the airport in Barcelona...not Sevilla? Yes, it does take you to Sants station, where you can catch the Metro. You can also do that from Placa Catalunya...and there's a great TI there as well.
