I have directions from CDG airport via Metro to Victor Hugo. I am wondering if there is an alternative bus route that would be less crowded than the metro to our hotel in the 16th. Thanks in advance.
Patricia I used to live in the Victor Hugo area and found it most convenient to take the "Cars Air France" bus that goes to Etoile/Charles de Gaulle (this is the bus with the end point of Porte Maillot). The bus lets you off north of the Etoile on avenue Carnot (one of the northern "spokes" coming out from the Etoile center). You can then walk counterclockwise (I.e. back towards the west/south) on the small street that encircles the arc de Triomphe island. It's called rue de Tilsit where you begin and turns into rue de Presbourg after you cross avenue de la grande Armee. The second street then is avenue Victor Hugo. Depending on how far your hotel is from there, you can either catch the 52 bus In the direction of St. cloud (1.90€ for a ticket bought directly from the driver) or walk.
Thanks so much for the information on the AirFrance bus. Looks like that would work for us.
