Does anyone have any good recommendations for an airport shuttle or transportation both in Barcelona and Madrid. I'm looking more for the easiest rather then the cheapest option. I'm looking for transportation from the airports to hotels in the downtown part of both cities. Thanks
This website gives the information you seek for those airports:Europe Airport Guide
We took cabs in both cities. Very easy!! In Madrid, just grab your lugguage and head outside to the cue for the cabs. We only took a cab back to the airport in Barcelona, so I don't know how easy it is to get them on arrival, but I can't imagine it is difficult. I don't remember the cost, but I don't remember it being outrageous.
In Madrid there is a good service posted on the web site of the airport....look on their website. As you exit the luggage claim and exit customs to the lobby area (on the lower level) go to your right until you see a sign on wall "Pharmacia" In front of that sign, in the lobby, there is a booth where you make contact for the shuttle service. May sound complicated but it is not. Save a few euros by prebooking the ride. The shuttle goes to all the hotels I believe.
I agree with Deanna. We took a cab from both places. Actually we took the metro into Barcelona and I regreted it, so when we went from the hotel to Barcelona's airport, we took a cab. The cab from our hotel to the airport (both cities) was not that expensive.
