Airport shuttle to brussels?

I will be in belgium for 3 days mostly for brugge, but i am flying into Charleroi airport (spelling?) which from what i hear is an hour from brussels, i will be in about 8 to 8:30pm or so. How would I get from the airport to brussels the easiest, or cheapest? I think I will have a half day in brussels and then move over to Brugge for the next day or two. Thanks!

Charleroi airport has a website, www.charleroi-airport.com. There is a pull down on the home page to change to English, then choose "Passengers", then "Access". From there you can information on the shuttle bus (1hr trip every ½ hr) to Brussels or the bus connection to the Charleroi station, from where you can go by train to anywhere.

Lee, Do you know how to actually purchase those shuttle bus tickets? I tried to, but won't let me because I'm in the US. I'll be flying from Charleroi, but staying in Brussels, in June.

The Brussels City Shuttle page says, "you can purchase tickets outside the terminal". It also gives a link to a page where you can purchase tickets online. I wonder if that is just tickets without reservations, in which case, just buy them outside the terminal. The trouble with purchasing them with reservation is that flights can be delayed and you miss the reservation. I'd just buy them when I get there. There is also a public bus (A) from the airport to Charleroi Süd rail station. Takes less than 20 min. There's a 14 min wait for the train to Brussels, which takes about 50 min. If you are really afraid that the shuttle bus will be sold out, the public bus will probably have standing room to Charleroi Süd (or there might be taxi's). I doubt that the whole train will be sold out. This is something to consider when flying someone like RyanAir. Most major airports in Europe have rail service into town. Most airports used by RyanAir are farther from town and have only bus service.

Sounds like Ryanair. Be sure, if I'm right, that you make double, triple, sure that your bag is under weight and under size unless you want to pay through the nose. Also read ALL their fine print. Carefully.
