Airport Security between Countries

Is it anything like TSA here in America? Are there any bottle/liquid restrictions like ours?

Yes to both questions. The liquid limit per bottle is 100 ml. They still go in a single bag, but you may or may not have to show it.

Kris, As the others have mentioned, the "3-1-1-" liquid restrictions are somewhat universal, as they're regulated by the various airport security agencies in each country (ie: TSA in the U.S., CATSA in Canada, etc.). The rules are "somewhat" co-ordinated but in my experience there are minor variations in each area. Some airports seem to be a bit more strict with the carry-on liquids, while others just seem to give them a cursory glance. I don't usually have to take my shoes off unless flying to the U.S. Rules in the U.K. seem a bit more rigid, as they have a Biometric check point when changing flights. Passengers that don't go through that don't fly! I watched that scenario when I transited LHR last year. Happy travels!

Which airports are you using, and what is your itinerary? If you specify this, people can give you specifics of each airport's setup. Nancy is correct, the liquid restrictions are the same. (Technically, it's 100 ml, not 3 ounces, per bottle, in both the US and Europe, but since the US is not on the metric system, they call it "3-1-1" instead of "100-1-1"). Whether or not you have to remove the bag, whether or not you have to take off your shoes, and other such things, varies from place to place. Do remember that the 3-1-1 rule means that if you are transiting airports on your way home, you can't take large liquids in your carry-on - even if they were bought after security at a duty free shop, and carried on the first plane leg. They'll be confiscated at the connection airport, so remember to change them to your checked luggage before going through security.
