airport-city ticket vs partner ticket

hi.
we will be arriving in munich airport on monday, oct 15 and will stay in munich for 7 days. i have been going thru the postings re travel from airport to the city. i also went to the website http://www.mvv-muenchen.de/en/home/tickets/ticketoffers/daytickets/airport-city-day-ticket/index.html. i understood it to mean that the airport-city tkt is different from the partner tkt as far as price for 2 people (airport-city tkt = 20euro, partner tkt = 18,80e). but as far as validity and its use for the whole day, they are the same. did i get this right? thanks a lot.

I'm not sure where you are getting your information, since the URL you provided doesn't work, and the partner ticket price you quoted is no longer valid. The Partner Gesamtnetz Tageskarte (entire network day ticket for up to 5 people), which gives you unlimited use of all the conveyance in Munich metro, including from the airport, is now 20,00€. I'm pretty sure they (airport-city and partner ticket) are the same tickets, just with different names. Note that, as long as you are staying in downtown Munich, for the inner transit zone, which includes all of what people normally see except Dachau, an all day partner ticket is only 10,20€. A partner ticket for three consecutive days is 23,70€. If you want to go to Dachau, a Munich XXL Partner Day ticket will get you to the Memorial by S-Bahn and bus and back for 13,10€. The XXL Partner Tageskarte gives you unlimited travel in the inner two zones for a day.
