I am wondering if anyone has used Kayak.com to secure airline tickets? Are most of the online airline ticket sights safe to get tickets? I have used one travel, travelocity, Expedia and Orbits. They are all high for booking May flights to Vienna. Thanks in Advance for any help you may give me.
Kayak doesn't sell airline tickets. All Kayak does is collect price data from all of the various sites and let's you compare all the different prices from different vendors like Expedia and the airlines. When you decide what is the best deal for you, it redirects to the merchant. Expedia, travelocity, and Orbitz are all legitimate companies and if you find a good deal there is no reason why you shouldn't do business with them. Buy in my experience one generally gets a better deal when you deal with the airlines directly.
I usually use Expedia, Travelocity and the actual airline websites to check for prices, schedules, type of plane, connections, etc. Then I go to my travel agent and go over the information that I have gathered and see what she can come up with. Many times the travel agents can get seats that are just released and can find routes that the websites do not have. Plus they know about the various terminals (who to avoid - like Heathrow), how much time you need between connecting flights and which airlines are experiencing financial difficulties. Always use a good travel agent to get you to where you are going. The worst is to start your trip off by not getting there on time or having some serious problems.
Thank you for the info. I have been to Europe 6 or 7 times now but the prices this year are very high. I used Kayak and was directed to www.tickets. to europe.com.
I have never used this site before so I was a little apprehensive. The price to where I wanted to go was so good that I was a little worried.
Have you ever heard of this site before?
