What have been the experiences relative to cheaper flights from DIA to either Brussels or Amsterdam? We will be traveling April 20 and return from Paris May 13. Is it cheaper to fly "OpenJaw"? Thanks, Dorsey
Open jaw sometimes saves time and/or money, when the distance between the "open jaws" is considerable. For example: Denver to Paris, surface transportation to Rome, then Rome to Denver (rather than surface transportation from Rome back to Paris). But if the distance between the open jaws is not great, then round trip will often save money.
Last summer we flew Denver/Rome and Zurich/Denver and it was $200/person cheaper than RT to Rome. The easiest way to answer your question is to use a travel site and plug in your combinations.
I second Frank on this question. Shop around and see what prices you get; you will be rewarded for a little extra effort on your part. I have flown the Paris/Amsterdam open jaw in past years, and based on my travel experiences that combination tends to be one of the cheaper open jaws. Northwest usually has the cheaper fares based on that combination (via Detroit or Minneapolis), but I don't know if that's changed or not.
