Any advance on inexpensive airfares from Luxembourg to Barcelona at the end of October would be helpful. Thank you.
Luxair has a daily flight....you didn't say which date so I just plugged on in and got $184.
Ryanair flies from Frankfurt Hahn (an hour from Luxembourg City with a direct bus link) to Barcelona for fares as low as $29.
Thanks so much for writing back. She would be flying from Luxembourg to Barcelona on Saturday, October 31st and then returning back to Luxembourg from Barcelona on Sunday, November 8th. Thanks again.
There are no non-stop flights between Luxembourg and Barcelona on weekends. The flights from Frankfurt Hahn do not go into Barcelona's main airport but to two different airports far out of town. These flights are on Ryanair. I suggest you go to their website to see your options.
And remember....she still has to get from Luxembourg to Frankfurt Hahn. Here is a link to the bus schedule:
Fly hahn
I'm not familiar with those two Barcelona airports (Girona and Reus) and can't help you with transportation into Barcelona.
FYI--To make the early morning flight from Hahn to Barcelona, she'd have to leave the Luxembourg train station at 3 AM. (The trip is about 1:45)
You can try skyscenner.com They got the best rates from all the airlines.
I did a serach for those dates, but it looks expensive. Over $300 round trip.
Maybe you want to try LUxair as Frank recommended.
Or you can take the bus from LUX to a larger city, Bruselle maybe, then fly
I will keep looking and I really appreciate all the efforts being made to help me.
Vueling flies from Brussels to Barcelona's main airport. However, they haven't released their schedule past October 31st yet. You may be able to get a return flight for about 100 Euro. GermanWings flies from Stuttgart to Barcelona's main airport for about 140 Euro RT, and from Cologne for about 170 Euro RT.
Calling Girona and Reus, "Barcelona airports" is somewhat of a misnomer. Neither is actually in the province of Barcelona, let alone the city. Reus is fairly close to Tarragona (100 odd KM south of BCN), and Girona is about the same distance north. If you are flying into or out of either airport, you'll need to keep in mind train schedules to Barcelona. Off the top of my head, the earliest train BCN-Girona doesn't arrive until 10-ish. In other words, any flight which leaves earlier than 1pm or so will be hard to make.
