When did Air France turn over to Delta, their non stop from Seattle to CDG? If anyone has taken that flight, please advise on the service. Thanks.
Air France, Delta and KLM run pooled flights from a number of US cities to Western European destinations. Most, maybe all, ticketing sites will indicate which airline is actually operating the flight. Although all three airlines sell tickets on the pool plane, prices on their individual websites may vary. The operating airline is responsible for in-flight service: food, entertainment, etc. When everything else is equal, I prefer Air France food and movie ion, but in the back seats where I travel the differences cannot be all that significant.
To avoid later confusion, specify at time of purchase which airline frequent-flyer plan will receive your points.
Daughter just took that flight from CDG to Seattle, returns home to Berlin on January 27. She reports food and service were both fine.
We regularly take Air France from Seattle to Paris. We love the service and the food is much better than most airplane fare. The free wine doesn't hurt, either. We always select the "voyageur" (lowest) fare. Since we book on the Air France site, we weren't aware that Delta had taken over!
Air France hasn't totally eliminated the non-stop flight from Seattle to CDG. It has cut it back to about 3 days a week now versus every day. I believe it now flies Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Sad news for those of us who have enjoyed Air France at SeaTac. They have announced they will pull out completely by March 25, 2012. The non-stop to Paris will continue, but is being taken over by Delta.
Oh BOO! That blows. Delta. Harrumph.
I love Air France flight attendants.
