age mistake on Alhambra ticket

I bought a senior discounted ticket for a friend with whom I am traveling. I thought she was 65 but she is only 63. Should I buy a new ticket? or can I pay difference when we enyer?

Our experience in Spain is that the senior rate starts at 60. However don't know if that is true for the Alhambra.

According to this website, the age for senior citizens is indeed 65: http://www.alhambradegranada.org/en/info/ticketsale.asp I did not realize it was possible for non-EU citizens to take advantage of this discount, but it appears to be so. I don't know what to tell Brooke, though. Maybe when you pick up the actual ticket you can exchange it for a full price one?

According to the website it is 65. Not sure how to deal with it. Thanks!

If you thought that she was at least 65, maybe the ticket taker will have the same impression ;-)

I did think she was 65 but I do not want her to miss out when we get there, even if the ticket taker might think she is 65 as well. Besides, according to what I read she needs to show passport.

Is there an email address that you could send this question to, on the Alhambra website? That way, you could save the response, print it out and bring it with you if there's a problem. I have no experience with age limitations in Spain, but our experience with our daughter in Italy was that the bigger, more sophisticated venues (i.e. the Uffizi) were more likely to abide by age restrictions (for her, it was a question of whether she qualified for childrens' rates). Smaller cities, they often just charged her half price or waved her through - no questions about age, much less asking for passport. Actually, they just charged her half price at the Accedemia in Venice, as well. It became sort of a joke.

Thank you Lexma and all, I did go on website servicaixma, where I bought tickets. They emailed saying I needed to buy a set of 4 new tickets and then they would exchange them. this needed to be done w/in 24hours of time of contact. I had a few questions and then the answering took more than 24 hours, so I did not do it. The change fees seemed to be more than to buy a new ticket. Not sure if I will buy a new ticket prior to going or not. I would hate my friend to get there and we would need to spend hours in line etc. for 28EU.

There are some countries where just having the price difference in cash - in hand - as you get 'caught' by the ticket-taker would be just fine ;-) Will you be in town the day before? Can you get there very early the day of your visit, or very late the day before? Maybe you can visit the ticket counter ahead of your visit and work something out... Perhaps contact your accommodations; they may be of service.
