Affordable Hotel/B&B in Brussels

My wife and I need to stay one night in Brussels because we need to catch an early train at 7:33 to Strasbourg. Any recommendations for an affortable place to stay NEAR that train station?

also, we were originally planning to stay the night in bruges and take an early train to brussels and then from there get on the train to strasbourg.....but we only have 5 minutes to get off the train from bruges and find the train going to strasbourg. are the trains in belgium on time consistently, and will we have enough time to get off the one train and find the other?

My guess is that your train leaves from Brussel Zuid, which isn't located in the best neighborhood. You may want to consider looking for a place closer to Brussel Centraal, which sits right by the Grand Place and Parc Royale. It is relatively easy to get from here to Brussel Zuid by Metro... that being said, because I usually stay with family in the area, sorry, I don't know of any specific budget hotels.

Trains in Belgium are usually very punctual, but only a 5 minute gap is a little too close for catching an Intercity train, especially at Brussel Zuid.
