I have stayed at the Hotel Lutetia, Paris several times in the last 5 years.However,I recently saw several bad reviews on Trip Advisor. We are planning a trip to Europe in May 2009 and will be in Paris for only 2 nights and would still like to stay at the Lutetia. Does anyone have recent experience staying there?

Sorry no, but note that some of those bad reveiws took place during the last five years, when you were there likely, so it may not be the place( you were happy there weren't you?) but peoples expectations. I find sometimes people will give a bad review for lame reasons, like they had to call the maid for a towel ( oh horrors,, LOL ) . I read back a bit, and it does seem like most people were happy there, but if it lists itself as a 4 star some people do have very high expectations.
Have you looked at the reviews on other sites? There may be some more recent ones. Try Venere for instance, or just google " reviews of Hotel Lutetia" . Good luck.

There was a bad review posted for a Venice hotel simply because the guests didn't like having to carry their luggage across a bridge!!!
