Travelling to Cordoba from Madrid in mid September, Do I need advanced tickets for the AVE? or can I purchase the day of travel?
PS Which train do u take. Thanks everyone
We did this in 2005 and found the Cordoba to Madrid train to be surprisingly crowded, especially considering we traveled mid-week. I would book ahead -- you might also save some money that way.
With more than a dozen journeys a day you can probably 'wing it' and be on one of them, but if you want peace of mind, want a certain departure time or possibility of a discount, purchase in advance. 'Which train do u take.'- Sorry, no idea what you intend with this.
U take the AVE train from Atocha station. Arrive early because you have to go through baggage screening. You can buy tickets in advance if you want. Go to the travel agent in El Corte Ingles department store if you do not speak any Spanish; they can get the tickets for you.
