My outdoorsy family plans to hike in the Murren area for 5-6 days in July and would like suggestions on other things to do either in Switzerland or some other place. We are willing to fly "open jaw". My husband likes to ride bike. Amsterdam? Paris because it's Paris? Rome for same reason? Or some cool off beat place?

Between short flights, high speed trains, and night trains the possibilities are endless. There are direct night trains from Zurich/Basel to Amsterdam, and Prague. You might want to consider Amsterdam. I love Switzerland, but it has no night life to speak of. Amsterdam will easily fill that void and make a good contrast. Also the biking in and around Amsterdam is excellent.
