Accomodations in Zermatt and Fuessen or Reutte

Does anyone know any cheap but clean places to stay in Zermatt, Fuessen and/or Reutte? I don't mind hostles as long as they are clean and not a big drunk fest. I will only be in Zermatt 1 night and Fuessen or Reutte 2 nights.

Hi Christine, suggest copy+paste above into Internet address box ...
... we have taken rooms twice at Hôtel Goldener Hirsch... looking at the room rates, we think you will find them reasonably competitive... and it is a clean place... ask for a room away from the streets ... Sorry, we have not had rooms in the other two places... Gute Reise! P

In Zermatt you can't beat the Hotel Garni Tannenhof for price, location and quality. Last year in June my single including breakfast and shared bathroom was 49CHF. It's located next to the big 5-star Zermatterhof. The owners are friendly, the breakfast was good and the place was clean. There was also a view of the Matterhorn from the big window in the lobby. http://www.zermatt.ch/e/hotels/list/tannenhof.html

To economize in Fuessen I would suggest staying in Schwangau-Horn...about a 4 minute drive from Fuessen. Horn is closer to the castles and has some very cheap and good accomodations. The last time in Horn we stayed at the Hotel Helmerhof. It's a great hotel and affordable...although I'm sure you could find even cheaper places. Check out a last of Horn hotels here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g198564-Schwangau_Bavaria-Hotels.html

If you are considering Reutte, you should also consider Pfronten (Pfronten-Ried).

In the picture at the top of their homepage, that is Pfronten in the middle. The valley behind Pfronten is the Austrian Tirol, where Reutte is. Füssen is at the far left side of the picture, and you can just barely see Neuschwanstein, the white dot on the mountain behind Füssen.

If you click on "Online buchbare Gastgeber" (online bookable hosts), you will be able to see a list of accommodations.

Pfronten is about 1/2 hour by bus from the Füssen Hauptbahnhof.

House L.A. in Fuessen.
www.housela.de

They have two buildings - one is near the train station, the other about a 15 minute walk from the station. Very friendly owners.

A double with shared bath is €20/person.
A bed in a 4-bed dorm is €18

A large breakfast is included with both.

Christine we stayed at Hotel Alanta in Zermatt, it included a good breakfast buffet each day, and the price was very good, plus the beds were incredible with lovely down duvets. Thoroughly recommend.
Good price and nice hotel .
