Does anyone know of a decent b&b/hotel/pension in or around the old town center in Prague that doesn't cost a fortune??
Thank you.
Most prague discussions are in the "To the East" forum. However, Arcadia Residence consistently is rated above everyone on www.tripadvisor.com They are also one of the most affordable places to stay. Cheap, excellent, big breakfast included and personal service by Pasquale and family should keep tourists coming back year after year.
My husband and I have stayed twice at the Pension U Zlateho Jelena, Celetna 11, in Stare Mesto. it is right off Old Town square. It was a wonderful location. While it was not a problem for us when our room faced the street, I would ask for a courtyard room if visiting again.
I stayed in a GREAT apartment in Mala Strana. I thought it was pretty affordable compared to a lot of hotels.

I would second the Arcadia residence. The Kozna location is very close to the square. Be sure to ask Pasquale for dinner recommendations. He gave us several and we found wonderful meals for under $50 including one beer and a glass of wine.
A third vote for Arcadia. Pasquale was great, cute courtyard where we ate breakfast every day, and couldn't ask for a more central location.
