Father and 4 adult sons looking for one night in Dunkerque on way to Normandy. Need 3 twin and 2 twin (2 rooms) or 3 rooms - of twin, twin, and a single. Love to be at harbor/city center. Thanks for your help. Sons celebrating Dad's
75th birthday.
I imagine that there are good reasons for sel-ecting Dunkerque - if so please don't allow me to sway you. I have driven through and around Dunkerque many many times over the years but have not been impressed by what I saw except for the history. That may make me the odd man out. Full marks to Bets for remembering the Ibis. I'm not sure it would be where I would take my Dad for his birthday, although it would save money. If you can go up or down the coast a few miles you may find nicer places. We often stay in Calais after we cross the Channel. The other direction we have often stayed in Bruges but now prefer Ghent. I hope they have a rewarding trip...
You could try the Ibis chain. They have a hotel in Dunkerque. It's no frills; one towel per person and a all-purpose soap/shampoos dispenser. But the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, good tv and wi-fi and the breakfast, which is geared to multiple nationalities, will fill all those men with no problem.

Thank you for your input. It is definitly a historical one night stop. Leaving Brussels Airport with a stop at Flanders Field and after Dunkerque on to the beaches of Normandy. Dad has his own little band of brothers to travel with. Sure your information will be of a
help.
