I would like to find affordable accomodations in Barcelona for October. Any suggestions?
I stayed at Hosteria Grau, c/Ramelleres, 27, 08001 arcelona, Spain, Internet: http://www.hostalgrau.com,
E-mail: [email protected] for $192 for 3 nights for a single room. Go tothe library and get the Rick Steves and Lonely Planet travel guides out. Most hotels now have websites. I book recommended rooms only (from here or the guide books).
Hi,
We spent 3 nights at Hostal Campi, on C/Canuda, just 250m from Placa de Catalunya and barely 50m off Las Ramblas. At E60/night for a double room with private toilet and shower, it's a great value given the location and generally overpriced accos in Barcelona.

You'll need to send email. They are prompt in responding. Unfriendly but efficient management.
Good luck,
Ashwin

I stayed at Hotel Lloret at the top of the Ramblas last month, at 51 Eu/night for a single with bath. Breakfast was generous for 5 Eu. Very convenient location, congenial atmosphere. Elevator.
There is a website called www.barcelonaman.com. It is maintained by an expatriated American now living in Madrid. He has various websites, madridman.com etc. He has numerous links to all types in lodging in Barcelona or whatever Spanish city you might be visiting. He also has a message board for various subjects.
