We have narrowed down the base towns for our visit to Provence. Vaison la Romaine, Beaumes de Venise, Nyons, Gigondas or Seguret have come highly recommended. Does anyone know of any small hotels or chambres d'hotes in these towns? Please advise and thanks for the insight!

Vaison La Romaine - Le Eveche (think that is the spelling) in the old city on top of the mountain. Fantastic accommodtions, views, and breakfast. Streets are narrow, but parking within a block. Any of the others in that area would be good as well...

Hi Peg - I love Le Beffroi in Vaison. I've stayed there twice and would stay there again. You could also check out Domaine de Mourchon near Seguret which has a guest cottage. I haven't stayed there but have toured the domaine and had a wine tasting there. The views are spectacular and the hosts are quite welcoming.

We found Eveche on Karen Brown's website and it looks wonderful. We were only able to book for one night in early June-they were full for our other desired nights. Near Gigondas we will stay at Les Florets which we found in RS guide. Half board is offered and we are taking advantage of that as it seems to be highly recommended. When will you visit Provence? The small hotels seem to book way in advance.
